Frequently Asked Questions
Devon & Somerset Wedding Photographers
HOW MANY IMAGES WILL YOU TAKE - AND CAN WE HAVE THEM ALL?

All images are recorded in a RAW file format (a much larger file than a JPEG) requiring extensive storage capacity and skilled post production before we can create the 500 – 700 JPEG images that become the story of your wedding day. For this reason we do not supply RAW images at anytime as we would have no control over how the images might then be processed but which could be seen as our work. It is an essential part of our process to cull the images that do not meet the technical, compositional and aesthetic standards that define our style and signature. In short, we only release those images that we are happy to put our name to!

We will provide a mix of colour and black and white images – there are occasions when black and white can have a greater impact either visually or emotionally.

DO WE 'OWN' THE IMAGES?
The photographer always retains the ownership of the images (the copyright), whilst you have a ‘licence’ to use them. What this means in practice is that you may do whatever you wish with the supplied images except use them for commercial or financial gain.
HOW DO YOU USE THE IMAGES?

Aside of course from providing you with images, it is usual for a photographer to use the images on his / her website – which is after all how potential couples know what type of photographs we will take! Additionally, the photographer may use certain images on social media to promote his / her business. This is always done with great respect.

WHY DO WE NEED A SECOND SHOOTER?

Fundamentally with a second shooter both bride and groom preparation is fully covered (especially important when the bride and groom are getting ready in different locations). They will also capture images throughout the day and assist the first shooter where necessary. The first shooter then executes the post production (either in house or via a third party).

Most second shooters work with many differing first shooters, they will not necessarily use a similar camera from that  of the first shooter (which could be inconsistent with a first shooter’s camera) and they rarely do post production. Many first shooters (due to availability) have to use different second shooters and make an additional charge for enrolling a second shooter.

With Two Knight Photography, Richard and Christina work smoothly together for every wedding. They both use Sony cameras, instinctively know which shots each with cover, have a consistent unique style and all importantly post produce all images in house, together.

And, Christina is far more than just a second shooter. Over and above all the expected second shooter shots and covering groom preparation, she takes the individual group family portraits and the large group shots (normally a first shooter’ responsibility).

Two Knight Photography do not make an additional charge for a second shooter.
